Charlie Kimball

Charlie Kimball completed his fifth Verizon IndyCar Series season in the No. 83 NovoLog FlexPen Chevrolet in 2015.  He returns to Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing in 2016 for his sixth season looking to continue to build upon last year’s campaign.

In 2015, Kimball finished the Verizon IndyCar Series points race in 12th position. During his fifth season with Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing, Kimball’s best finishes came at the Indianapolis 500 and the Grand Prix of Sonoma, where he scored podium-finishes of third place at both races. Kimball made his debut in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2013 at the Rolex 24 At Daytona, where he was a member of the winning team alongside IMSA’s all-time winningest driver Scott Pruett. He joined the IMSA team again in 2015 alongside Scott Pruett, Joey Hand, and Sage Karam with a seventh-place finish after mechanical issues plagued the No. 01 car.

Kimball was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2007, making him the first licensed driver with diabetes and first licensed driver to qualify for and complete the Indianapolis 500 in the history of INDYCAR.
